Moving and Assisting Nursing Care Plan

The Manual Handling Operations Regulations 1992, as amended require that a risk assessment must be completed to avoid hazardous manual handling operations when moving or assisting a resident.

Other factors have to be considered when preparing to move a resident safely, such as the health and physical condition of the resident, the environment, position of bed and the bed height, and sufficiency of space for the nurse or carer to set the resident

The Care Plan sets out a clear explanation of the resident’s issue, and will guide the nurse or carer through the process of preparing a comprehensive, individual person centred Care Plan.
